Sunday Afternoon Social 12th Anniversary Snowstorm Recap
We broke records at the 12th Anniversary Sunday Afternoon Social: Toronto’s record for snowfall in a single day was set on January 25, 2026, when 56 cm (22 inches) fell in the downtown area, yet we still came together and danced all evening. GOOD JOB TEAM.
While the city disappeared under snow, the Social did what it’s always done best: brought people together. Despite the whiteout outside, the loft was full, warm, and buzzing from 5 to 11 pm as we celebrated 12 years of SAS.
In the west side room, Mike Gibbs & Monokromatic eased us in before Hauy delivered a long, farewell set that felt extra special given the conditions. Jamie Kidd closed with purpose, keeping the floor moving right to the end. Over on the east side, Steinjah, Sugar Daddy Moth, Flowanastasia & Tyr Kohout, and Pachelle brought bass, breaks, and live vocals into the storm.
Big love to co-hosts Box of Kittens, all the artists, and everyone who made the trek through record snowfall to be there. Twelve years deep, still dancing, even when the city shut down. DANCING IS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE!
